01 Our commitment
Masters athletes compete for health, friendship and personal best performances. Doping harms the athlete, cheats fellow competitors and damages the sport. MAFI-TN does not tolerate it at any of its championships.
02 Your responsibilities as an athlete
- You are responsible for everything you take, use or allow to be administered to you — whatever the source.
- Check any medicine, supplement or treatment against the current WADA Prohibited List before using it. Ask your doctor to do the same.
- Make the anti-doping declaration at registration honestly. By registering you confirm that you are not using any substance on the Prohibited List and that you agree to undergo testing if selected.
- If you need a prohibited medicine for a genuine medical condition, apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) through the proper channel before you compete.
03 Testing
- Athletes may be selected for testing at a championship, either at random or on a targeted basis, by the competent anti-doping authority or the federation.
- Selected athletes must report to the doping control station immediately after notification and stay with the escort until the process is complete.
- Refusing or failing to provide a sample, tampering, or evading collection is treated as a violation.
04 Violations and consequences
- Anti-doping rule violations are handled under the applicable WMA, World Athletics and national anti-doping rules.
- Consequences can include disqualification of results, forfeiture of medals and points, public disclosure and a period of ineligibility.
- Submitting fabricated age documentation is a separate breach of our code of conduct and leads to immediate disqualification and suspension from federation events.
